PAA awards an annual scholarship to a graduating high school senior from the Ocean Beach or Naselle-Grays River School districts, or a home-schooled student. Graduating seniors with an interest in furthering their arts education are eligible and are urged to contact their school scholarship director and ask about the possibility of applying for the $1000 scholarship.

The scholarship is not restricted to college bound students. Any high school graduating senior interested in pursuing further arts education through workshops, apprenticeships, or college classes may apply. Scholarship funds may be used for payment of classes or for art equipment or supplies.

Selection is based on a required student essay, letters of recommendation, minimum grade point average, submitted art portfolio, and an inteview. Student art work is reviewed at the time of the interview. Application deadline is Monday April 30, 2020. Interviews take place at the end of May.

Eligibility

Graduating seniors from high schools in Naselle-Grays River Valley or Ocean Beach school districts, including home schooled students. The applying student must maintain a 2.5 GPA and have a portfolio of finished visual art work to present at the interview.

Process

Applications are reviewed by the PAA scholarship committee and applicants are interviewed at the end of May. The scholarship is awarded prior to graduation.

Financial

PAA provides a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating high school senior interested in furthering their art education, through college courses, art workshops, the purchase of art supplies or equipment, or private lessons.
